Application

For best results, remove old gasket material and thoroughly clean and dry both mating surfaces.

Apply a continuous, even bead to one surface, tracing the sealing area and surrounding bolt holes.

Assemble the components while the silicone is still wet. Finger tighten the flange until material begins to appear around the edges, then allow the product to set before completing the recommended tightening procedure.

For best results, allow the gasket maker to cure overnight before placing the assembly into service.

Important Application Notes

Permatex Ultra Black is not recommended for use as a cylinder head gasket or head gasket sealant.

It is also not recommended for components in direct contact with gasoline.
